Hala and Soaad are Arabic teachers at arabiceworld.com. Hala has been teaching for about 7 years now. In 2003 she started teaching Arabic online for the non speakers. She joined a school in Cairo as a teacher and worked there for about 3 years where she taught English and Arabic. Because she proved to be a talented teacher and the school received positive feedbacks from her they promoted her as the head of the Arabic department. She enjoys teaching so much. She believes that her classroom is like her kingdom where she is its queen. She also enjoys learning about different cultures and tradition from her students. She reads a lot about history, culture and literature so that she could have better understanding of her students.
In 2006, the school where Hala was working, employed a new Arabic teacher, Soaad. Soaad studied English and Arabic literature and grammar at university. She worked as a tour operator and a freelance translator for about one year after graduation. She felt that she does not like being a translator or a tour operator. She applied to that school and has been trained well before she started to teach. Hala and Soaad became friends and the former helped Soaad to learn some about the secrets of teaching. She taught English and Arabic and started to feel that she found what she has been missing in her previous jobs.
In 2007, Soaad found a new platform for online teaching www.myngle.com. She got so excited and both were 2 of the first teachers to be on board. Then they decided to quit the school and be only freelances tutors and online teachers.
The team of Myngle was very helpful to them and they helped them to build themselves as online teachers. In late 2007, Myngle invited them to work with them as Education Assistants so they can help the new teachers. They trained them more and since then they are both teachers and education assistants.
During these years, they have developed their own materials for Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) and Modern Standard Arabic ( MSA). To improve their skills more, they attended TEFL course in Cairo and later they joined the Lancelot course to be online certified teachers. They enjoy using technology and they are always working on exploring the virtual world of Education more and more.
Being language students too makes them capable of understanding their students needs. Hala is studying Italian at the moment and Soaad is studying Spanish. They are planning to start learning Japanese this year too.
Concerning their plans as Arabic teachers, they have started creating audio lessons for ECA. You will be able to listen to a sample on this website too. They are also proof reading their Arabic book to be publish soon.
